Around wine professionals attended TopWine China 2021
After a delay of more than 700 days due to the Covid-19 pandemic the international wine exhibition TopWine China 2021 in The China National Convention Center (CNCC), Beijing, opened its doors again on June 1, 2021.
Over 300 exhibitors from across the world seized the opportunity to finally present themselves live again at the biggest wine gathering in Beijing. And after three intensive days TWC 2021 successfully concluded on June 3 with around 10.600 leaders and decision-makers from across the Chinese wine industry.
Exhibitors from among others France, Italy, Spain and Israel were very positive about the professionalism of the attendees. Their responses were extremely enthusiastic and at the same time they indicated that participation in TWC 2021 has proven that, despite the COVID-19 pandemic, the Chinese market still offers great opportunities.
Negotiations are currently underway with the CNCC management in Beijing to set new dates for TopWine China in 2022.
Wealthy young Chinese, having acquired a modicum of savoir faire and a taste for liquid luxury, are becoming game changers in one of the world’s biggest wine markets, prompting the country’s top wine merchants to also become providers of wine education.
It is amazing to see how many young people in China are drinking fine wines nowadays. They are well-educated, open to Western ideas, serious about their career, and on top of that, value the good things of the good life.
Chinese wine consumers become more knowledgeable and more selective about what they are going to drink. For some young working professionals, enrolling in a wine course is even an investment in their career and a way of mixing with people with money.
