Winemaking is equally a science and an art. Wine drinking results in inspired thinking. Although wine is not a traditional beverage, China's consumers are increasingly open to new tastes and experiences from the Old World and New World wineries.

China Director of Food and Beverage Forum 2013 Beijing @ TopWine China

 

 


The very first China Director of Food and Beverage Forum 2013 @ TopWine China shall be held on June 04, 2013 in the CNCC, Beijing.  

 

With the theme 'The Challenge from the Hotel and Restaurant Boom in China', the forum will have key note speaker Mr. Martin Jones, Vice President - Food & Beverage Asia Pacific for Starwood Asia Pacific Hotels & Resorts, and leading speakers Mr. Brian Julyan Master Sommelier, CEO of the Court of Master Sommeliers; Mr. Richard Xu, Chief Editor Extraordinaire of The New Western Cuisine Magazine; and Mr. Alberto Fernandez, partner of the representing company of the Chateau Mouton Rothschild Brands in China.

Martin Jones has more than 20 years of professional work experience from the hospitality industry. He knows every critical step of the trade. From starting a restaurant in a hotel in Korea, Jones now manages thousands of food and beverage venues round the clock in over 100 hotels in Asia-Pacific. And, the number keeps increasing. Getting to know Martin Jones may not guarantee a job position but one thing for sure, listening to him speak opens to solutions never imagined before.

 

 

 

Brian Julyan, CEO of The Court of Master Sommeliers, is also the Founding CEO of the Court of Master Sommelier in 1977. The court has now 209 Master Sommeliers around the world and more than half of them are on the ground, working and mastering issues which many traditional F & B Professionals couldn't seem to find better solutions.


Richard Xu has brought the print media on food and beverage in China to the next level and onto the world stage. In less than four years, Xu has re-engineered the 8-year old publication, New Western Cuisine magazine, to become the top and only monthly bilingual food and beverage publication in China with creative themes, interesting contents, superb photography, professional journalism, and quality printing. Xu has led his team to translate the vision and mission of 'bridging the East and West through the understanding and appreciation of gastronomy'.

 

 

 

 

Anthony Gourmel is the torch bearer in Asia for the Rothschild family heritage which now prides itself with Madam Baroness Rothschild at the helm. Gourmel is based in Japan, the wine market considered as the most sophisticated in Asia. Shanghai based Alberto Fernandez, partner of the Company representing Chateau

Mouton Rothschild's Brands in China, ensuring the largest multi-brand's position remain strong under the Chateau Mouton Rothschild, 1 of the 5 First Growth of Bordeaux.    

 

The forum addresses various issues and problems in the hospitality, food and beverage sectors: rating the mushrooming numbers of hotel in China; the challenges of Food and Beverage Directors in China; the rising demand for skilled manpower and human resources amid the booming hospitality industry; quality and service standards; budgetary requirements and revenues; new concepts and trends in restaurant design and operations.   

 

The 2013 China Director of Food and Beverage Forum is the first of its kind in China and is jointly organized by Master Sommelier Tommy Lam of the Asia Wine Institute and the TopWine China Organization team. The forum aims to act as the platform for experts, professionals, associates, investors, and concerned participants related to the hospitality, food and beverage sector for the exchange of ideas and meeting of minds in relevant issues to addressing the challenges and finding opportunities in the fast growing industry.

TopWine China Seminar 

D.O.Ca. RIOJA: guarantee of fine wine



 

In June 2013, DOCa Rioja will join TopWine China in Beijing. The booth Number is 2218 in Hall 3. On the first day of the exhibition, June 4th, DOCa Rioja will hold a Rioja Wine Seminar in Seminar Room 1, from 13:30-15:00 h. The lecturer will be Mr. Stephen Li.

 

A Designation of Origin (D.O.) for Wine is a wine-producing region whose wineries are subject to specific quality control rules. D.O. Rioja was the first one awarded the title D.O., in 1926. Then, in 1991 D.O. Rioja was awarded the highest category - Qualified D.O., or D.O.Ca. - because of its even stricter quality controls all through the process, making Rioja the first D.O. in Spain to be so honoured.   

 

D.O.Ca. Rioja, located in northern Spain, is a privileged region for growing grapes and making top-quality wines, with a unique personality and an exceptional aptitude for ageing.   

With Tempranillo grape as the main element, Rioja reds are characterized by being very balanced in their alcohol content, color and acidity, by having a body and structure offset perfectly by a gentle and elegant flavor and by being mainly fruity in nature when young and more velvety when aged. These characteristics make Rioja Wines highly versatile when combining with the most varied foods, which makes it a perfect match for the Chinese taste.
